Cupro-Nickel 90/10 & 70/30

Cupro-Nickel is supplied in the two ratios the market actually trades: 90/10 (90% copper, 10% nickel) and 70/30. Published composition bands run Cu 68–88%, Ni 10–30%, with Mn 0.40–0.60% and Fe 0.5–1% added deliberately, not tolerated as impurity. Its value is seawater corrosion resistance combined with resistance to biofouling, so it goes into condenser and heat-exchanger tubing, desalination plant, shipbuilding and offshore hardware. Higher nickel means better strength and erosion resistance at higher cost, so 70/30 goes where flow rates are severe. Supplied as new material and as sorted scrap, priced on contained nickel and copper.
